The Velli Prize

Established in recognition of Giuseppe Velli (1928-2013), an inspiring Boccaccio scholar whose work remains fundamental in Italy and North America to this day, the American Boccaccio Association is proud to offer 3 annual prizes recognizing excellence in undergraduate, graduate, and creative work on Boccaccio.

The Paleography Seminar

The American Boccaccio Association, in collaboration with the Enter Nazionale Giovanni Boccaccio, is pleased to sponsor workshops taught by internationally renowned paleographers for the benefit of its members.

Stefano Zamponi Scholarship

Lecturae Boccaccii

 In 1983, members of the American Boccaccio Association resolved to create a lectura series of all the Decameron's tales based on the analogous model so common in Dante Studies. The concept envisioned a hundred scholarly essays, one for each novella, grouped by giornata into a ten-volume set.
